Q. How big a cake do I need?

A. The table below should give some indication as to the number of portions that a cake will yield, based on a 1 inch square portion for fruit cakes. A sponge cake will yield approx half of these quantities.

Q. Why are there no prices on your website? I'd like an idea how much a cake will cost.

A. Each cake is individual and so I can only quote once I've discussed your requirements with you. Please feel free to contact me either for ideas or with your own idea.

Q. What sort of cakes can you produce?

A. I will make just about any kind of cake, to any design. Bear in mind that stacked cakes need a fruit cake as the base tier to take the weight of the other tiers and any decoration. For inspiration take a look at some cake magazines or at the photos in the picture links at the top of the page to see some past commissions.

Q. How much notice do you need for a cake?

A. The longer the better really, my diary tends to get pretty full in the summer due to weddings but I will endeavour to accommodate your timescale if possible.

Q. The cakes look great but are they really edible?

A. Yes

Q.I want a wedding cake, will you deliver to save me the hassle on my wedding day?

A. Of course. In fact for wedding cakes I prefer to deliver and set up the cake at your wedding venue. This ensures that the cake is set up exactly as you requested. There may be an additional charge for this service, depending how far away your wedding venue is.

Q. I've seen cakes with photographs and company logos printed onto them, can you do this for me?

A. No problems, although to do this I need a good quality digital image (you can e-mail it to me) or a good quality original copy which I can scan. It goes without saying that the quality of the original picture dictates the quality of the cake picture.
